This Rwanda safari gives you an opportunity to explore the best of Rwanda’s hidden gem with a mixture of wildlife and culture, catering for everyone’s’ needs. The trip starts in  Kigali,  Rwanda’s capital to tracking gorillas in the Volcanoes National Park followed by experiencing the beaches of Lake Kivu. You will then continue with adventure in Nyungwe National Park for more Primates Experience . It concludes with game drives in the Akagera National Park  offering a wide range of Wildlife

Day 1: Arrival

Our Love Rwanda Safaris  Guide will meet you on your arrival at Kanombe international airport, Kigali and transfer you to your hotel in Kigali

Day 2: Kigali – Volcanoes National Park

This morning after breakfast at your hotel, you will to go for a city tour of Kigali exploring different cultural sites like the genocide museum, craft market among other followed by lunch. In the afternoon after lunch, we will then transfer to Musanze the gate of Volcanoes National Park and checkin into your accommodation for the night.

Day 3: Volcanoes National Park

This morning, we will have an early breakfast then drive to the park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for briefing and thereafter go for your mountain gorilla tracking. After the activity, we will the return to your lodge for the afternoon rest and then dinner and overnight.

Day 4: To Lake Kivu

Enjoy a hearty breakfast and then leave Muzanze for Gisenyi. Gisenyi is a pretty town located on the shores of Lake Kivu, Rwanda’s main water body. In the afternoon, you can choose to have an afternoon at rest relaxing at the balcony of your hotel or at the beach or you can choose to get active with a number of water sports and activities like sport fishing, boating and swimming. Day 5: Explore the culture of the Rwandese

After having breakfast, leave Gisenyi. Proceed to Nyanza and visit the royal palace of the Mwami (traditional king of Rwanda). An onsite story teller will narrate the facts on the pre-colonial kingdom’s history. From Nyanza, drive to Huye/Butare and visit the national cultural museum. Have lunch after which you will drive to Gikongoro to tour the Murambi genocide memorial. Proceed to Nyungwe National Park arriving in time .

Day 6: Monkey/Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe national park

Have an early breakfast after which you will proceed to the park headquarters for the start of your chimpanzee tracking.  A park official will brief you shortly after which you will go on a primates’ walk in the nearby Cyamudongo Forest. This trek can take long between 1-6 hours depending on the movement of the primates. It is advisable to carry plenty of water and a picnic lunch on this walk. This walk will reward you with sights of large troops of colobus monkey and chimpanzees.

Day 7: Akagera National Park

After breakfast, leave Nyungwe National Park and drive to Akagera National located along Rwanda-Tanzania border Park through Kigali city. An evening game drive in the park may reward you with sights of Burchell’s Zebra, lions, elephants, topi, giraffes, impalas and over 425 species of birds including the shoe billed stock, African jacana, sacred ibis goliath heron.

Day 8: Akagera National Park

Rise early for a game drive to catch the early risers that you might have missed yesterday. Have midmorning breakfast, followed by lunch. In the late afternoon, have a boat trip on Lake Ihema. View large pods of hippo, huge Nile crocodiles and numerous water birds.

Day 9: Departure

After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge, we will transfer to Kigali international airport for your international flight. (BL)

Alternatively, if your safari includes Uganda, you will head to Uganda for the start of the Uganda section instead of returning to Kigali
