15 Days Ultimate Rwanda and Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival

Upon arrival you will be met by your guide from our company and transferred to your Hotel in Kigali for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2:  Kigali City Tour – Volcanoes National Park

This morning after breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by your guide and takes on a city tour of Kigali followed by lunch. After lunch, we will then transfer to Volcanoes National Park and check in at your lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

After early morning breakfast, drive to the starting point at the park headquarters where you will have a gorilla briefing and after start off the Gorilla trekking adventure in Parc National des Volcanoes. Gorilla trekking and the time of Gorilla viewing depends on the Movement of the Gentle giants as well as the terrain, therefore trekking can take from 2-8 hrs. Watching the adult Gorillas feeding the young ones, grooming and resting as the youngsters swing from trees in a delightfully playful manner is an exciting experience.

Day 4: Transfer to Uganda

Optional: You will go for golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park and later continue your journey to Uganda.

After breakfast at your lodge, depart for Uganda by border crossing at through Cyanika Border. You will stop over for a lunch break, and arrive at your lodge in late afternoon.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking  (Uganda)

An early breakfast after which you will proceed to the park offices for a briefing, then continue in the fores for the trek. you are advised to bring with you hiking shoes, long pants and long sleeved shirts for the trek. A packed lunch and water is provided by the lodge, after the trek you have the afternoon at leisure, or site seeing around the trading centre.

Day 6: Lake Bunyonyi

Today, we will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of East Africa’s deepest lakes. The lake has most unique features with many islands.

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi

Today, you can choose to relax at the balcony of your lodge followed by swimming at the lodge’s pool. Alternatively, take a canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi, do a community walk to see the ways of lives of the people living around the lake.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, through the southern sector of the park called ishasha where you will be viewing the famous tree climbing lions as the rest up in the large forest trees.  You will check in at your lodge and have an evening at rest.

Day 9: Game drive and Launch Cruise

After breakfast, go for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi area which is probably referred to as the Kob Mating Grounds. Also seek out the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. You will be likely to meet spotted hyenas, hippos, bushbucks, elephants, stripped jackal, lions, water bucks and leopard. The Kasenyi plains are good for lion and the Mweya peninsula for a variety of animals. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax during the heat of the day. After lunch, go for a unique launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This 2-hour trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos, buffalos, elephants and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. The cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching with over 550 resident species and game viewing. Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge

Day 10: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park with our guide with a game drive as you exit the park. You will have a leisurely afternoon followed by dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

Go for an early morning chimpanzee tracking in the forest and experience the excitement of the sight of a lot of chimpanzees and other animals like the forest elephants, buffaloes, leopards, bush pig and duiker, lions, warthogs, reptiles and amphibians as well as a colorful variety of butterflies. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp area. Return to Primate Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Visit The Pygmies

Leave after breakfast for the crown and hot springs.  The drive is a 2-4  hours. This will be the day in the pygmy villages located near the Ituri  Rainforest. The visit to the villages has proven to be an appealing cultural experience.  You take a tour to the Hot Springs  from where you will visit the Pygmies. The guide will carry packed lunch for you  so that you have a Picnic lunch while you experience the True Africa! Afterwards, you will be transferred back to Fortportal.

Day 13: Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast at the Hotel, travel to Kampala, through the villages and beautiful scenery. Have lunch en route and you will arrive late afternoon.

Day 14: Transfer to Jinja Source Of The River Nile

Depart Kampala and head eastward to Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda. Here there is a number of activities that are available at your disposal depending on your interest.

Take a visit to the source of the Nile which is the longest river in Africa as discovered by Speke or go for while water rafting or bungee jumping or a visit to Itanda falls. Later in the evening, we will return to Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Day 15:  transfer to Entebbe and depart

Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight back home.
